Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 118 Accepting Apprentice applications

Apprenticeship is post-secondary education like a college or university. But there’s a big difference: apprentices learn only a portion of their skills in a traditional classroom. They receive most of their training on the job while working for an employer who pays a good wage. And tuition is free! All plumbing, steamfitting (pipefitting), and HVAC/R Service apprenticeships with UA Local 118 of Southeastern Wisconsin comprise both classroom instruction and on-the-job training. The exact amount of time required varies depending on the trade, regardless, all will take about 5 years

Starting wages is $27.25 per hour and total package including health benefits and retirement benefits is $41.91 per hour 



Requirements

Must be 18 years of age


Valid driver's license


ACT Test scores within the past 5 years or accuplacer test 


High school transcripts (Sealed) and resume


Veterans should submit DD-214 


This program is GI BIll approved and Veterans can collect a BAH as an E-5 with dependents 


First six months of the GI Bill is $2,172 per month
