Utility Arborist & Powerline Clearance Tree Trimmer

If you answered yes to those questions, you may be a good fit for our Powerline Clearance and Tree Trimming Apprenticeship. GI-Bill Approved. If you're wondering what to do after your ETS, this outdoor career may be a great fit for you. In the PNW, trees grow tall and wide. Trees and other vegetation are one of the primary causes of power outages. Alongside lineman, utility arborists have to maintain the trees that threaten our nations power system. Through the use of specialized equipment and climbing, utility arborists work around energized powerlines to remove and trim vegetation, insuring effective delivery of power.
The job entails working at height. Working outdoors in all weather conditions. Lifting, pulling, pushing and handling of items in excess of 50lbs. Manually climbing trees and operating specilized equipment. Working int small teams (crews) to perform daily maintenance on our power system.
This is an apprenticeship position, GI-Approved. Meaning you get paid to learn. Its a 2-year / 4,000 hour apprenticeship headquartered out of Battle Ground Washington but covering Washington, Oregon, Northern CA and Idaho. Wages and benefits are great. Bargained by the IBEW and different upon where you work within our territory. The avarege package, with benefits, is $128,000/annually for a Journeyman. Apprentices start at 75% of the Journeyman rate.
