Commercial Apprentice Inside wireman apprenticeship is a 5 year period of Classroom and On-the-job Training (OJT) OJT: The apprentice must complete a minimum of 8200 hours before moving on to become a Journeyman Classroom Training: The apprentice must attend class two nights a week (6pm-10pm) along with any additional nights or weekends as required for OSHA training or any other needed training courses.


Qualifications


a. Presently at least 18 years of age
b. Currently a resident of Niagara County or the western portion of Orleans County 
c. High school graduate or have a GED
d. Successful completion of one full year of high school algebra


e. To qualify for an interview, one must obtain a score of "4" or higher on the electrical trade's aptitude test developed and validated by the American Institute for Research
f. If selected for apprenticeship, one must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License
g. If selected for apprenticeship, one must successfully pass a drug screening test and a background check



Requirements

Applications may be filled out in person every Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.  If you would like to print and complete the application, you may do so at your leisure.  These forms can be mailed or dropped off at the Union Hall at any time.



Along with the application, each applicant must also sign our Affidavit. If you would like to apply for both our Residential and Commercial programs, you must fill out two applications filling in the appropriate bubbles at the top of the application accordingly.
