Carpenter Maintenance - Fort Knox, KY.
PCSI is looking for a Carpenter at Ft. Knox, KY - Site 840!
The carpenter position should expect to plan and lay out work from blueprints, drawings, and verbal instructions using a variety of trade hand tools, portable power tools, standard measuring devices, and standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work and selecting necessary materials for the work, adhere to general safety plan, assist in materials handling and equipment usage, and operate general construction equipment on site, and perform carpentry work to a level consistent with Glover Standards and set forms for concrete work..
This position will report to the Cadet Command Supervisor and is based at our Fort Knox Kentucky TFM contract. Typical work hours will be Monday-Friday from 7:00am to 3:30pm. Support of CST, CAP & Raider Challenge annual events necessitate special work schedules that include split-shift and second-shift assignments, as well as required overtime and weekend work.

What You'll Do as a Carpenter:
•Plan and lay out work from blueprints, drawings, and verbal instructions using a variety of trade hand tools, portable power tools, standard measuring devices, and standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work and selecting necessary materials for the work.
•Adhere to general safety plan, assist in materials handling and equipment usage, and operate general construction equipment on site.
•Perform carpentry work to a level consistent with Glover Standards and set forms for concrete work.
•Match materials to requested design specifications.
•Creates materials that fit the client’s expectations.
•Uses power tools and other tools to cut and shape wood, metal, and other materials.
•Combines carpentry work with joining work and trades.
•Read and interpret complex drawings and plan sets.
•Ensure accuracy taking measurements and calculating the size and amount of material needed for a project.
•Performs a variety of skilled carpentry duties. Constructs, fabricates, installs, repairs or replaces doors, walls, signs, desks, counters, shelves, shelf units, computer tables, chairs, benches, tables, buildings, scaffolds, forms, frames, window frames, fences and stairways.
•Determines priorities for requisitioning materials and supplies.
•Performs a variety of masonry duties including construction and repair of masonry walls, screens, retaining walls, benches, edgings and facings.
•Accurately measure, cut, and shape wood, plywood, and other materials using hand and power tools to match project specifications.
•Other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need:
•High school diploma or GED.
•Requires working knowledge of related equipment.
•Four years related experience with the ability to perform the assigned duties.
•Must be able to effectively read, write, and speak the English language.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
•Excellent knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools, and equipment.
•Able to problem-solve challenging issues.
•Must be able to multitask.
•Ability to consult with customer for individual and regulation needs.
•Ability to install and finish drywall to include different textures and finishes.
•Knowledge and ability to identify loadbearing walls, headers, footers, lintels, seals, etc.
• Regularly required to stand, walk, and work on ladders. Frequently required to kneel, squat, bend, and reach.
• Require to be able to lift 75lbs up to 10 times per day.
• Ability to work as a team member.
• Self-starter, able to work with minimal direction and supervision.
Other Requirements:
• Ability to pass criminal, drug, and driving screening.
• Ability to work outside in inclement weather as needed and be exposed to various dirt, debris, and odors.
• Ability to work any time or day of the week, including weekends and holidays.
• Possess valid driver’s license and maintain good driving record.
• If required, ability to obtain and maintain security clearance and base access to assigned site(s).
